Aquestes estructures calc\u00e0ries actuen com a refugi i punt de connexi\u00f3 per a nombroses esp\u00e8cies mediterr\u00e0nies. Tanmateix, la pressi\u00f3 humana, la degradaci\u00f3 dels h\u00e0bitats i la p\u00e8rdua progressiva de biodiversitat van fer evident la necessitat d\u2019actuar.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Miquel Rota va comen\u00e7ar a observar com el mar colonitzava aquestes petites estructures<\/strong>. La seva intu\u00efci\u00f3 era senzilla, per\u00f2 poderosa: si s\u2019oferia al mar el material adequat i una estructura semblant als fons naturals, la vida tornaria.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Durant anys, en Miquel va experimentar amb roques de carbonat c\u00e0lcic procedents d\u2019antics sediments marins del Mioc\u00e8<\/strong>. Aquelles primeres proves amb bi\u00f2tops m\u00e9s petits van demostrar que la roca de carbonat c\u00e0lcic podia convertir-se r\u00e0pidament en refugi, zona de cria i punt de trobada per a peixos, la idea va comen\u00e7ar a prendre forma. <strong>Durant tres mesos, el Port de Torredembarra es va convertir en la base d\u2019una obra marina sense precedents a la zona.<\/strong> Camions, grues i embarcacions van transportar milers de tones de roca calc\u00e0ria fins al punt escollit.<\/p><p data-start=\"2161\" data-end=\"2214\" class=\"translation-block\">El 16 de gener de 2023 van comen\u00e7ar oficialment els treballs. Durant tres mesos es van mobilitzar prop de 38.000 tones de roca de carbonat c\u00e0lcic procedent d\u2019una pedrera propera de sediments f\u00f2ssils marins del Mioc\u00e8. <strong>La log\u00edstica va implicar aproximadament 1.600 camions i m\u00e9s de 120 sortides mar\u00edtimes d\u2019una embarcaci\u00f3 g\u00e0nguil encarregada de transportar i dipositar les roques al punt d\u2019instal\u00b7laci\u00f3<\/strong>.<\/p><p data-start=\"2161\" data-end=\"2214\">El resultat va ser una aut\u00e8ntica muntanya submarina de 22 metres d\u2019al\u00e7ada, situada entre els 35 i els 13 metres de profunditat, amb 90 metres de longitud i 60 metres d\u2019amplada.
